On November 13 , 1986 , exactly 20 years ago, President Ronald Reagan comes to TV revealing that there was arm sales from CIA to Iran and it was proved later there were funding to Contras in Nicaragua through drugs trafficking.

The Contras were trying to rip down the best and most democratic government Nicaragua ever had, the Sandinistas. It is recent news that Ortega has been finally reelected.

Robert M. Gates, the Director of Central Intelligence, has ordered a sweeping overhaul of how the C.I.A. maintains its vast store of files, Government officials said today. Mr. Gates's order is a result of the embarrassment suffered by the Central Intelligence Agency.

In an unusual and harsh indictment of the Central Intelligence Agency's handling of a billion-dollar bank-fraud case involving Iraq, the agency's director has ordered all employees to cease speaking publicly about the matter and has forbidden them from destroying any related documents. Is it because he wants to deal directly with all those informations and basically hide the fact that war in Iraq is on error and not on terror.

• Elliott Abrams:^[30] under Bush, the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director on the National Security Council for Near East and North African Affairs; in Iran Contra, pleaded guilty on two counts of unlawfully withholding information, pardoned.
• Otto Reich:^[31] head of the Office of Public Diplomacy under Reagan.
• John Negroponte:^[32] under Bush, the National Intelligence Director.
• Admiral John Poindexter:^[33] under Bush, Director of the Information Awareness Office; in Iran Contra found guilty of multiple felony counts for conspiracy, obstruction of justice, lying to Congress, defrauding the government, and the alteration and destruction of evidence, convictions reversed.

From the 1980s onward, allegations were made that the Contras were being funded through cocaine distribution.

One of the earliest such allegations was contained in a lawsuit filed in 1986 by two journalists represented by the Christic Institute, alleging that the CIA and other parties were engaged in criminal acts, including financing the purchase of arms with the proceeds of cocaine sales.^[34] The suit was dismissed; several of the named participants subsequently sued the Christic Institute for libel and won.

Senator John Kerry's 1988 U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations report on Contra drug links concluded that "senior U.S. policy makers were not immune to the idea that drug money was a perfect solution to the Contras' funding problems."^[35] Kerry was suspicious of North's connection with Manuel Noriega, Panama's drug baron. According to the National Security Archive, Oliver North had been in contact with Noriega and had met him personally.

In 1992 U.S. President George H.W. Bush pardoned persons involved in the scandal.^[36]

The allegations resurfaced in 1996 when journalist Gary Webb published reports in the San Jose Mercury News^[37], and later in his book Dark Alliance^[38], detailing how Contras had distributed crack cocaine into Los Angeles to fund weapons purchases. These reports were initially attacked by various other newspapers, which attempted to debunk the link, citing official reports that apparently cleared the CIA.

In 1998, CIA Inspector General Frederick Hitz published a two-volume report^[39] that substantiated many of Webb's claims, and described how 50 Contras and drug traffickers had been protected from law enforcement activity by the Reagan-Bush administration, and documented a cover-up of evidence relating to these activities. The report also showed that Oliver North and the NSC were aware of these activities. A report later that same year by the Justice Department Inspector General Michael Bromwich also came to similar conclusions.

In 2004, Gary Webb allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself twice in the head.

If George Orwell once said "If love means anything, it means loving some things more than others" then the consequential concept is the fact that love creates classismus.
The positive and the negative are one. Certainly in harmony with each other but there is no straight line to the infinite pleasure that is connected to the original idea or whatever is widely recognized as love.
Utopistic, so to say, since is proved that love can give you this mirror feeling.
So is no surprise to see how capitalism acts inside human relationships.
The rules are nowadays the same, how much you collect or how many valuable contacts you have. Micha was saying that capitalism is inside the mentality of people.
Is not objectively seen but subjectively, without people recognising it.
Even many people of the anarchist scene seems to have problem to relate to each other in a constructive way. Micha seems to think that capitalism has entered inside our minds obstructing freedom and development.

He was saying that a relationship is sometimes like a market where people give themselves a certain value due to how beautiful they think they are, or what kind ofcultural and social capital they have and for a capital considered to be big they ask the partner to give his capital which is the ability to work (real work and emotional work) like the old capitalist exchange/exploitation.

I would add that people can be considered not for what they are but for what they can offer in terms of considering the people around you not anymore as your friends but like working partners. This way of relating to someone as an exchanging objects/ knowledge person who won't consider you in terms what there is outside the material value they give to you is pretty sad.
